Two Million IPads? That is what Apple says are sold.

PC World reports that Apple says sales are good. Great. Amazing!

Has the iPad changed the world of reading? Sure, not everyone has one yet, but as 2M becomes 3M, then 10M, and teachers start presuming students have one, will paper books become just another option?
Too early to call, or are you wishing you bought stock in Apple?

iPad Reviews, Sales, and the Mapple Store (Simpsons Video)

iPads are on sale. Reviews are out. What do you think? Read iPad reviews (goes to Google News section for the reviews).

Already sold out? Welcome to Apple. Big price. Big image. Good product, but never produced on time.

The Simpsons - Mapple Store

Mypods & BoomsticksThe Simpson family takes a trip to the Mapple Store at the Springfield Mall where Lisa gets her very own Mypod, and Bart interrupts an announcement from Steve Mobbs with his own voiceover, causing pandemonium to break loose in the store.

Why I Am Not Selling iPads (Yet!) - Buy a Million Dollar Necklace Instead

You can buy diamonds on Amazon, but not iPad. Did Apple screw up? No, or, maybe.

According to Wired,
You know you can’t obtain an iPad for least three months, but you may not know the reason you can’t even buy one in advance: Apple has not yet obtained the necessary Federal Communications Commission approval to unleash it on the nation’s airwaves.
Wondering Why You Can’t Pre-Order an iPad? It Isn’t Legal Yet

Nice diamond necklace, though, don't you think?

The Name iPad - Let the MaxiPad Jokes Begin

Seems like easy pickin, doesn't it? Cheap jokes about iPads and Maxipads. Jay Leno might tell them. David Letterman would pretend not to tell them. And Conan O'Brien? He's not telling any jokes lately, as you know.

Cheap jokes asides, if this is your concern about the iPad, why not just dwell on something of substance, like what dress Michelle Obama is wearing? Yes, believe or not, people care about such nonsense, and these kinds of things influence who we vote for or what e-reader we buy.

Be smarter than that.

The News: iPad Tablet is Alive and Well

So the sales charts say.

Not everyone is excited. Are these merely anti-Apple techies or legit concerns? Bill Gates has detractors, as, of course does Microsoft. Maybe with good reason, but reactionaries can be found among those afraid of change.

Is it a Kindle killer? Too soon to say. Apple is brilliantly foolish sometimes, not always ready for their own success. Just look at their computers. They had numerous chances to be right their with Microsoft, but production was slow, and there were high prices and third-party software that was unavailable. Sure, Apple has blown away the market with iPods and iPhones, so odds are good.

It is more than Apple involved in its ability to thrive. Publishers need to get on board. Many have, but Amazon also has incredible distribution.

Here's to many happy customers!
